We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher or advanced PhD researcher for a paid 2-month visiting research stay at the Rehabilitation Research group, Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Timing: October–November 2026
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Focus: movement variability, motor learning, balance and technology-supported gait assessment
Expression of interest deadline: May 30, 2026
We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in movement variability in the context of motor learning. Relevant experience may include functional versus non-functional variability, coordination dynamics, freezing/freeing degrees of freedom, gait or balance variability, nonlinear movement analysis, UCM, CRP, vector coding, PCA, entropy-based measures, IMU data, motion capture, or related analytical approaches.
The stay is short, focused and output-oriented. The selected researcher will contribute to data analysis pipelines within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation technology environment in Brussels.
Interested candidates — or colleagues who know someone with this profile — are welcome to contact me directly by May 30, 2026 at Rehabilitation.Research@vub.be with a short CV, a brief description of relevant expertise, and confirmation of availability in October–November 2026.
