Lotte is part of the Rehabilitation Research group in Brussels where she works as a research and educational assistant since May 2019. She obtained her master degree in the Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy at the KU Leuven with majors in the neurological (2015) and musculoskeletal (2016) rehabilitation. Before joining the University of Brussels, Lotte worked as a teaching assistant and internship coordinator in Leuven. There, she was also involved as research associate in an international project around virtual reality training to improve arm-hand function in stroke patients. As academic assistant at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, she is combining her doctoral research project with assistant teaching tasks for first and second bachelor students physiotherapy. Her PhD research focuses on the predictive value of time-related trajectories of muscle alterations in the recovery of gait in stroke patients under supervision of Prof. David Beckwée, Prof. Eva Swinnen and Prof. Nina Lefeber.
