Emma (°1994) obtained her master degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy with a specialization in neurorehabilitation in 2017 at the Universiteit Antwerpen, Belgium. Thereafter, she joined the Rehabilitation Research group of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in October 2017. She is a doctoral researcher and her research focuses on the use of virtual reality in post-stroke gait rehabilitation. In particular, she investigates how different principles incorporated into the virtual reality influences the gait pattern of chronic stroke patients. A more in-depth knowledge about the effect virtual reality has on the gait pattern will improve its use for stroke rehabilitation.
